The Ayurvedic Way

The night before the workshop my partner asked me ‘are you nervous’ in which I instantly replied ‘no’. To my surprise my nerves came ten minutes before the workshop began and the inner critic was loud.

‘Why are you doing this?’

‘You know nothing’

I smiled to myself upon observing these thoughts. I went over to the mirror, took a selfie of the self doubt moment, went downstairs and made myself a cuppa.

I came back to the workshop space and had a moment. Closed my eyes and observed the thoughts.

‘Why am I doing this?’ I asked myself directly and a clear answer came back ‘because I want to share this knowledge’

That was all I needed in that moment and I quietly sat with my tea and eyes closed until I heard the first footsteps of a partipant coming up the stairs.

These workshops need work, I’m in the shallow waters of exploring a subject I’m deeply interested in. Learning how to deliver these sessions so students can also benefit from this wisdom is one of the hardest things I’ve done in my teaching career so far.

I could be wrong but I sense partipants are also enjoying this process of learning and unlearning, of hearing me say ‘I don’t know but thats an interesting question, I’ll look into that further’ because its a collective, its everyone on the journey together.

And I’m buzzed that so many people are eager to have the curiousity, openness and autonomy over their own health and wellbeing.
