Michelle’s Kitchen

As I followed Aunty Jeeta up the stairs with small samples of food as an offering to Devi, I thought how wildly different my life had become from the way I approached food back in England. I grew to love this daily practice of meditation, intention and attention on the food we were creating. I was feeling the healthiest I’d ever felt from the most basic ingredients and fully immersing myself in the process of making food with love. My heart felt full and my belly warm.

The longer I spent in India the more I thought about how much I wanted to share what I had learnt with my communities back home. I wanted to bring people together, cook, eat, share and learn. That’s when the beginnings of the community cooking came to mind and Michelle’s Kitchen was born.

I’ve always been of more eastern mind, immersing myself in Yoga and Meditation practices since 2016, teaching many students over the years and then last year moving onto studying nutrition and Ayurvedic cooking.

Ayurveda is one of those things that finds you when you really need it and if you approach with an open, curious mind then the benefits are endless. This system of health isn’t an over night quick fix, its a dedication to consistency and self practice. By looking at our food and lifestyle, Ayurveda takes a grounded, gentle and nourishing approach to health. When we understand that we are part of everything and that the answers are within us, we really begin to relax and listen to our intuition.

My dream is to create a giving space where you have the time to discover your own mind, body and soul. To deepen your connection with food, having more autonomy over your own health.
